Critical Issues across Communities of Color

Proposal submissions will be accepted for the April 9, 2005 symposium in three categories:
papers, roundtables and symposia. All proposals (a one page abstract) are due by
November 15, 2004.
Notification will be sent to accepted presenters, December 10, 2004.
If your paper is accepted, please plan to register promptly. Final papers will be accepted
only from those who have at least one author registered for the conference. Deadline for
final manuscript of the accepted paper is due March 1, 2005
Guidelines for All Three Categories:

Submit one copy of a typed cover sheet that includes the name and address of all authors and
paper title. The following signed warrant statement must also be included on the cover-
sheet: “I warrant that if my paper is accepted, I will submit a formally written six-page
(single-spaced, typed) summary for inclusion in the conference proceedings. I understand
that if this summary is not submitted by March 1, 2005, my paper will not be included as part
of the fourteenth annual symposium, Resistance and Resilience: Critical Issues across
Communities of Color. ----Please attach one copy of a typed (12 point font) one-page titled
Abstract not exceeding 600 words to the cover sheet (author/s)’ names should be omitted.
Proposals for symposia and roundtables should include a half-page abstract describing the
contributions of each presenter.

READ CAREFULLY
Authors with papers of symposia accepted for the conference must submit a formally written
six-page (APA style single-spaced, 12 point font) typed paper by March 1, 2005. Additionally,
your submission must contain a copy of your abstract and a brief biographical sketch of
each author that will appear in the Conference Program. Papers and symposia received after
the announced deadline for the Adult Education Research Symposium Conference Proceedings
(and/or not in APA style) will be disregarded and replaced by an alternate author. (Note:
Authors whose papers and symposia are accepted will be notified of the specifications for
Preparing and submitting papers.)
Please carefully proofread all submitted materials.
Authors are responsible for the content of their submissions. All submissions should be
